Content Curation, and Why Feel There's a Better Way
Over the last eight months we've blogged five times on content curation. Some posts were rather harsh. It's only right that we tell you why, although if you read our April 17, 2013 post, 'Secret Sauce,' you likely have a good idea.
We have nothing against curation, per se. We want you to be successful. If curation works for you, we want you to use it. While we don't think it's the best way to go, our opinion is meaningless in the face of a technique that contributes to a successful social networking campaign, and to your financial success.
You've likely heard the saying, "Don't hide you light under a bushel." It means to conceal your, ideas, intellect, and talents from the world. Curation does that. It hides what you've got because, by definition, curated material is material you did not create. And that, in our opinion, is a real shame. What you know, think, feel, your expertise, opinion, knowledge - your intellect - is important. It's valuable to your customers, clients, vendors, employees, family, friends, it's important to all of us here at Web Content Rx. As what we write is important to you, or you wouldn't be reading this.
So, use curation if it meets your needs, but aware that what you're publishing is material created by others. We value your opinion. To comment, please click here, or on the Comments link below.
