Your content has two jobs to do. It needs to provide what the customer wants to see and it needs to show the customer why people should do business with you.
Why are your products better than the competition's? You need to tell the customer that. While your products may be more expensive, they can still be cheaper to use because
- they don't wear out as fast
- they reduce inventory costs
- they last longer
- they reduce replacement costs
- they reduce down time
Back up your claims with testimonials from people and companies. Businesses will only do business with your if you can show them a monetary reason to do so. Be sure your textimonials include the person's name, title, and company. Many textimonials do not do and appear bogus.
No matter what your products or services are, you must show people that you can save them money, or give them a monetary reason to deal with you. Reflect this in your content. And do that while providing your audience the superb content that they demand. Look at your content as a labor saving device. Your audience will only follow your social networking campaign if it provides them bona fide high quality content that saves them money, time, or is a resource to their needs.
